This bascinet helmet copy is handforged from steel and is based on a 14th century original.
The visor can be opened and removed; small slids in the visor protect the eyes. The leather covered inlet can be adjusted.
The helmet is made of 2 mm thick steel and is suitable for reenactment.
Headsize (inner liner size): max. 62 cm (24.4").
Inner length: 23 cm / 9" (front to back)
Inner width: 18.5 cm / 7.2" (ear to ear)
Weight: 2.7 kg / 6 lbs
You may either use the brass casings or the small holes in the back rim to attach a chainmail neck protection. The size of the helmet however allows to wear a chainmail hood underneath as well.
