This morion was hand-made from iron and brass according to an original around 1600.
The helmet is mainly a piece for decoration, but due to its size (inner size 20 cm / 7.8 inches wide, 23 cm / 9 inches long) it can well be worn as there are no rivets or screws inside and a padded cap is included.
The outer decorations are made of brass. Although the slits in the face protection are rather small they offered a good view, hard to believe!
Weight of helmet: 2,4 kg / 5.3 pounds, thickness of metal is 1,2 mm / 0.04 inches.
