The Wars of the Roses were a series of dynastic civil wars for the throne of England fought between supporters of two rival branches of the Royal House of Plantagenet: the houses of Lancaster and York (the "red" and the "white" rose, respectively).
They were fought in several sporadic episodes between 1455 and 1485, although there was related fighting both before and after this period.

The kettle hat was a simple bowl with a big rand. He was particularly used by archers and sappers, for it allowed the head to move freely, gave a good protection against missiles coming from the top, and did not hinder eyesight.
It will evolve later to become the Morion.

Our steel reproduction archer helmet is known to be a "celeta" originating in Italy in abt. 1400 AD. It comes in 16 gauge steel with an adjustable leather liner.

It fits head sizes up to 65 cm / 25.6" circumference.
Weight: 2.2 kg / 4.8 lbs.
