The stiletto originated in northern Italy and quickly spread throughout Europe. Since the early 16th century this weapon was used to sting through heavy fabrics, chainmail or even a harness - to penetrate quickly and quietly and kill the carrier.

The very sharp and strong blade was usually triangular in shape. It caused serious injury like bleeding wounds without striking and was therefore often used by assassins.

Soon the stiletto was declared illegal in many places but with only moderate success.

The stiletto offered here is inspired by the Venetian one.
It has the usually straight handle and a three edged, hand-forged steel blade.
The tip of the blade is very sharp. The cross-guard and the handle are decorated.
