The chapel-de-fer (literally: iron cap) was used in medieval Europe by foot soldiers and knights from the 13th century onward.
Its broad rim shielded blows from hand weapons and offered protection from missiles from above.

Our reproduction is made from 16 gauge steel (1.5 mms. or .057 inch thick).

It fits everybody up to hat size 8 (64 cms.), so that most of you can even wear a chainmail coif underneath the helmet. It is fitted with an adjustable leather lining inside and a leather chin strap.

Total height: 20 cms (8 inch).
It weighs abt. 2 kg (approx. 4.4 lbs).
