AH6313 - Roman auxiliary horn helmet for reenactors
I am selling a reenactor's Roman helmet in original size. This style of helmet with hinged cheek pieces was used by auxiliary forces in Roman legions.
The helmet fits a head size of up to 63 cms.(25inch) and some padding and adjustment of the liner (see last photo)will help to fit it for smaller heads.
It was handmade from natural horn, framed with brass and weighs abt. 1.7 kg (3.75 lbs.).
Overall height : 41 cms (16 inch) - helmet up to tip 26 cms (10 inch) plus cheek pieces 15 cms (6 inch).
A steel chainmail aventail is fitted for neck protection.
