This chainmail shirt is handmade of round steel rings in the pattern "6 rings in one" (please see picture).
A "hamata" is what the Romans called a sleeveless or short-sleeved chainmail shirt. In addition to the plainer shirts this was equipped with a reinforced shoulder part. The additional chainmail collar was connected to the shirt with a steel buckle.
