AH3853LRTU - Roman rectangular shield scutum 200 to 50AD,
We are selling a copy of a Roman shield for reenactors in original size.
This style of shield with its handmade painted design was copied from grave steles for legionairies and trajan's column(see below) in Rome.
It is made from plywood with a linen surface, a steel buckle and a rim of brass.
It weighs abt. 6 kgs. (13 lbs).
Overall height : 107 cms. (42 inch)
Overall width : 72 cms. (28,5 inch)
Measured along the surface the shield is 84 cm or 33" wide.
