AH6181 - Red crest (wood) for Roman Deepeeka helmets
In contrast to the legionnaires the Roman officers wore a helmet with a horsehair crest.
The crest was probably a brush with a wooden base; therefore the now commonly offered crests with a metal base seem to be wrong. There was no archaeolgical found verifying metal based crests.
