Y12L - Strong Medieval helmet, Barbute, 15th century
The Barbute helmet with its "T" slot face opening provided good visibility and gave full protection of the neck.
Our helmet is an authentic copy of this medieval helmet in original size, around 1450 AD.
It fits quite nicely up to a head size of 62 cm / 24.4".
It is made from 13 gauge steel; the steel band around the face opening adds an additional 1.3 mm/0.05". It is suitable for reenactment.
