P12AR - Medieval Chain Mail Coif riveted aluminum
Matching the recently offered riveted aluminum chain mail shirt I am offering the matching best quality chain mail coif shown. It was recently handmade from 16 gauge aluminum links, combined in the early pattern (4 links through the 5th), inner link dia. 3/8" (10 mms), each link individually riveted for strength.An aluminum coif does not rust, however, it does not look too original. If you want it darker, use a black spray paint, it will look old and still will not rust.
Its length is 17" (45 cms.)and it weighs only 1.1 kgs/2.1/2 lbs. This auction covers only the coif, the 2-handed sword you can find in another parallel auction and very soon I will start offering the shorter sword shown on my photo.
