The chapel-de-fer (literally: iron cap) was used in medieval Europe by foot soldiers and knights from the 13th century onward.Our reproduction is made from 16 gauge steel (1.5 mms. or .057 inch thick).
It fits everybody up to hat size 8 (64 cms.), so that most of you can even wear a chainmail coif underneath the helmet.It is fitted with an adjustable leather lining inside and a leather chin strap.Total height: 20 cms (8 inch).
It weighs abt. 2.2 kg (approx. 5 lbs).
