D70 - 10th century Viking or Norman double-edged axe
The double-edged battle axe we are selling was one of the main weapons used by the vikings when they fought their battles from Scandinavia to Britain and the European continent until they finally settled in Northern France.
The axe is overall 70 cms (27.5 inches) long, its carbon steel head (18 cms x 24 cms. = 7" x 9.5") has sharpened edges and is decorated on both sides, the wooden handle is leather wrapped and 58 cms (23 inch) long.
Weight : 1.2 kg (2.6 lbs).
