AH4220 - Late Roman Plumbata
This handy weapon was used in the late Roman Empire. Five of these arrows each were fixed to the back of the roman round shields. The approach of these shafts was difficult to detect. They were also called "mattiobarbuli" (small barbs from Mars) and many an enemy was thus put out of action.
