AH3853L - Roman rectangular shield scutum 200 to 50AD,
We are selling a copy of a Roman shield for reenactors in original size.
This style of shield with its handmade painted design was copied from grave steles for legionairies and trajan's column(see below) in Rome.
It is made from plywood with a linen surface and a rim of brass.It weighs abt. 6 kgs. (13 lbs).
Overall height : 107 cms. (42 inch) Overall width : 72 cms. (28,5 inch) measured along the surface.
Its brass buckle can be easily mounted and de-mounted by 8 screws with brass knobs on top as shown on my bottom photo.

Because of its size shipment to the US is not possible, sorry. See our shield D53, which is similar but a little smaller and can be sent to the US.
