For sale is this replica of a French, Spanish or German swept hilt rapier in original size.These rapiers were popular in the 15th, 16th and 17th century.
Our reproduction is for decoration and roll play, it has a 98 cms./39" long high carbon double edged wavy (flamboyant) steel blade,a 23 cm x 25 cm 9”x10” hand guard and a wire bound black leather grip. The edges on the blade are .5 mm thick and almost sharp.For stage use the edges have to be filed down as only blunt blades are allowed on stage.
Overall length of this sword is 118 cms/47".Its sheath with iron furniture is covered with black leather stitched at back.Total weight : 2 kgs (4.4 lbs.)
