This is a 13" (34 cm) tall and beautiful brass theodolite crafted in the old style.
The 26 cm (10 inch) telescope has ground glass optics and produces a sharp image; it is focused by rotating an adjusting wheel.The object lens is covered with a brass lens cover.
With the compass and 3 spirit levels this instrument is adjusted like a surveyor's transit to measure inclination, and the actual angles on graduated scales, which are inlaid in white metal in the brass frame of the instrument.The brass frame is supplied in an antique looking finish.
