am selling an authentic copy of this medieval helmet in original size. This style of helmet was used in the 16th and 17th century all over Europe.At first it was worn mainly by pikemen, later it was used by the guards of princes. Its comb and the wide brim protected the soldiers from blows and cuts from above and all sides.
The original from which our helmet was copied appears to be of German origin.
The helmet weighs 1.7 kgs.(approx. 4 lbs.). It is very clean inside and can be worn as is.
It is made with 18 gauge steel trimmed in brass. The helmet is 32 cms (12.1/2 inches) high, headsize is 59 cm.
At the back it has a plume holder (see small photo).
