This reproduction compass is mainly meant for decoration but may also be installed in smaller boats.
However, the magnets in the red and blue balls that usually neutralise the magnet field are missing.
The compass gimbals, i.e. the central piece seems to float in liquid but actually turns on a fine needle.
The wooden stand has got a diameter of 14 cm / 5.5", the distance between the metal balls is 37.5 cm / 14.7", total height is 43 cm / 16.9".
