The famous Roman Gladius (short sword) carried by the Roman legionnaires during the conquest of Europe and Britain up to Hadrian's wall is here offered as so- called "Mainz type".
The carbon steel blade sharped on both sides was used both as cutting and stabbing weapon. The blade is towards the tip narrow (from 5,5 cm to 4,5 cm)and has an ivory-colored handle.
The scabbard made from red leather has 4 support rings to fix a carrying strap.
